As soon as Jeanette got her horse, she began hinting that Don needed one too so they could ride together. Now Don had always wanted an Arabian. But he wasn't quite ready to have another horse on the place. It needed a  lot of fixing up and a horse would take up much valuable work time. Following that line of reasoning, he still wouldn't have one.

As luck would have it, about a month after Jeanette got PJ, they were talking with Don's brother, Tim, and it was mentioned that Don was looking for an Arabian horse. Two weeks later, Tim called up to say he had found a really nice Arabian filly that had just been put up for sale. He had had his eye on her for a while but he didn't have the money to buy her at the time. So Don agreed to buy her sight unseen based solely on Tim's description. Tim even volunteered to start her training, as she was just 3 and had not yet been ridden.

So a couple of months later, Don had both the Farm and a green broke horse to whip into shape. The jury is still out as to who or what is getting whipped into shape. After a yeaar and a half trying to do both and keep his day job, Don took the easy way out and bred Margarita so she can be busy while he spends more time at his day job and the farm-excuse me-the ranch.
